Central Otago Economy

I don’t recall seeing the Central Otago economy so quiet.  Things seem to have picked up a bit today but things were pretty much dead in Cromwell and Wanaka Sunday and Monday.  Both golf courses were empty (from a selfish perspctive a good thing) and shopping areas in both towns were noticeably quieter.  There don’t seem to be many foreign tourists which is a bit of a worry as tourism is our biggest export industry.

On the positive side, the weather is great, the snow is melting from the mountain tops, and we have had a steady floww of customers into the vineyard today.
